Blend door actuator clicking.
If you hear a repeated light clicking sound coming from under the dash it can be a bad blend door actuator.
The temperature change isn t necessarily a reliable indicator the clicking is the actuator trying to move past its limit so i imagine the air would still be pretty cold but maybe not necessarily.
Symptoms a blend door actuator is bad.
An actuator can go bad in of two ways.
Replacing an f 150 blend door actuator for hvac 2009 2014.
The blend door actuator is located behind the glove box and a sign of failure is an audible clicking sound when you adjust your climate controls.
I am not responsible for any damages that may accure to the door motor or any other part of the system as a result from this trick fix alright.
A blend door actuator is made up of an electric motor that turns a plastic gear set in one direction or another which is connected to an air control door pivot at the final drive of the unit.
Often adjusting the temperature settings ever so slightly can stop the noise temporarily.
The gear is stripping out so who knows.
A blend door actuator is linked to an air control door pivot found on the last drive of the unit.
The problem is one of the two blend door actuator in the dash.
An actuator can become faulty if the plastic gear set turns out to be fragile and it breaks.
