Turn on the outside garden hose and stick it back into the well and leave it running.
Bleaching well system.
You will introduce the chlorine there.
Add bleach to the well.
If the well is deeper increase the amount of bleach by 1 2 quart for every additional 50.
If you have chlorine pellets that you have purchased from us drop in twenty five to thirty pellets in addition to the bleach.
If the well is no more than 50 feet deep use 1 quart of bleach.
Pour the bleach into your well or through the vent pipe.
Turn off the well system.
Remember 1 quart per 100 feet or start with one quart if you don t know the depth 2.
Flush the system especially if the water from the well is cloudy.
If that cloudiness in the water is tds or total dissolved solids it will absorb the sodium hypochlorite used in the bleach and weaken it you don t want to do this every 6 months so get a complete kill.
Pour in 1 gallon of regular household chlorine bleach down the well shaft.
A chlorine test kit can be used to precisely measure chlorine levels in the water rather than relying on scent alone.
You may need up to 10 gallons 37 9 l of bleach depending on the volume of water within your well and the strength of the bleach.
Pour chlorine bleach into the well.
